Amaras.org is a web resource dedicated to the history of Nagorno Karabakh's Amaras Monastery – one of the most ancient and well-known cultural and religious symbols of early medieval Armenia. The Amaras Monastery was founded by St. Gregory the Enlightener in the early 4th century. It also was the venue where St. Mesrob Mashtots (362 AD -440 AD) established the first school where the Armenian alphabet, which he invented in 405 AD, was taught to students.
